Alright… So if you’ve been in the Online Marketing game for any period of time, you know that right now, more than ever, the Marketplace is a little bit crazy. There are literally tens of thousands of affiliates promoting just 3-4 opportunities, and 97% of those affiliates are failing.
Why? Because they’re doing EXACTLY what everyone else is that makes up the rest of the 97%. They’re not taking any action steps to stand out in the Marketplace as a leader and an authority, and they’re not giving anyone any good reason that they should join them in their business or buy whatever it is they’re selling. As one of my mentors, Tim Erway would say, they’re “me too” marketing.
Today were going to cover 3 simple ways for you to separate yourself from the crowd, and kill the “me too marketer” inside of you forever!
1. Create An Actual Lead Magnet/Bribe That Delivers Value
Here’s the deal, asking someone to opt-in to your e-mail list in return for “letting them watch your sales video” doesn’t provide much value. It doesn’t provide any value actually. Having said that, realize 2 things:
1. Your e-mail list is your most valuable asset in your Online Business.
2. Your e-mail list will only serve as an asset if you consistently and predictably provide value to the lives of your subscribers.
So now that we’re clear, doesn’t it make sense to go above and beyond in the activity of providing value to your list… ESPECIALLY RIGHT AFTER PEOPLE OPT-IN? That’s your first point of contact you have with your new list… And I’m sure you’ve heard the saying “first impressions are everything”. Leave a lasting first impression by creating a Lead Magnet that solves a problem that your new subscriber is facing. Whether you teach them how to get more traffic, convert traffic into leads, convert leads into sales, or write compelling copy, create something. Your Lead Magnet can be in the form of a report, video, webinar, ect.
And if you don’t know how to drive traffic, convert leads, or turn leads into sales, get creative. Maybe a simple “what not to do” type training, where you outline all of the various mistakes you’ve made. People would opt-in to receive that offer, and you’d be one of the few Marketers providing value.
Realize that you don’t need to be a six or seven figure earner to provide value.
2. Use A Thank You Page In Your Funnel
Again this brings us back to the whole first impressions thing. Your end goal is to have your new subscribers who opt-in to your e-mail know, like, and trust you.
So go ahead and create a thank you page where you have a brief introduction of who you are and what you’re all about. If you have any social proof, share away, if not, that’s ok too. As long as you’re being real, and you’re new subscribers see that you’re a real, sincere person, you’ll immediately begin to built rapport.
This works especially well when combined with a Lead Magnet. Take a few seconds in your thank you page video and let them know that there Lead Magnet is on its way to their inbox, and what problem that Lead Magnet is going to solve for them. Tell them how you can help them, and what they should look out for in the coming weeks, whether it be e-mails, video trainings, ect.
Introduce yourself, and provide value.
This is one of the easiest and fastest ways for you to separate yourself from the pack, so don’t discredit it. PEOPLE BUY FROM PEOPLE THEY KNOW, LIKE, AND TRUST… And creating a quick video for your thank you page that introduces you and lets your new subscribers in on what your all about can go along way in starting the process of building trust.
Daegan Smith actually calls the Thank You Page “the most underutilized page in most peoples funnels”. Now I donno about you, but when Daegan speaks, I listen.
3. Create a Content Hub Where You Consistently Provide Problem Solving, Value Based Content
Now this third tip is pretty basic if you’ve been around for any period of time, yet the truth is, most people blow it off.
Now that your building your list and providing value to your new subscribers lives from the first point of contact, its time to keep on providing value… And to NEVER STOP.
Whether it’s a blog, a youtube channel, 0r a podcast show, you need some medium through which you can provide value, and then send your e-mail list to in order to consume it. Realize that while blogs, youtube channels, and podcasts shows CAN SERVE AS METHODS OF TRAFFIC GENERATION, they’re much more suited to build relationships and rapport with your new e-mail list that you acquire through PAID ADVERTISING.
Create a content hub, I recommend a blog, and post valuable, problem solving content to it 3-4 times a week, and then let your e-mail list know when you have.
Pretty basic, but it will do wonders.
